College of the Canyons sophomore Nicole Lerma placed 13th in the women’s 1-meter diving event at the 3C2A Swim & Dive State Championships, scoring 124.20 points at Orange Coast College. Lerma, the program’s first state qualifier in more than a decade, ranked second among Southern California divers and third among Western State Conference competitors in the field. She is the first COC diver to reach the state meet since 2015.
