Two students from the William S. Hart Union High School District shared award-winning essays highlighting how nonviolent action can unite communities and create lasting change. Saugus High freshman Vikas Tella and Arroyo Seco Junior High seventh-grader Aryahi Patankar pointed to historic leaders such as Gandhi, Martin Luther King Jr., Rosa Parks and Nelson Mandela as examples of how peaceful resistance can heal divisions and inspire progress. District officials praised the students’ insights and said the annual essay contest will continue promoting civic engagement and social awareness.
