Dr. Robert “Bob” Albert Nolet, a longtime educator who served as superintendent of the Sulphur Springs Union School District for more than three decades, died Jan. 22 at age 77 following a five-year battle with cancer. Appointed superintendent in 1983 at age 34, he was then the youngest in California and was widely recognized for his dedication to students and community service. Nolet is survived by his wife, children and grandchildren, and will be honored at a Celebration of Life on Feb. 16 in Castaic.
