SUMMARY:
The Government Accounting Analyst
will be responsible for ensuring compliance with Cost Accounting Standards. The Government Accounting Analyst will interact with DCAA and DCMA for audit requests and any issues raised out of audits. This individual will act as liaison with customers on matters related to cost proposal for government contracts.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Monitors internal progress of contracts with various operating divisions to ensure fulfillment of contract and cost requirements.
Monitors and reviews claims for completeness, accuracy and conformity with FAR and CAS requirements.
Develop and prepares internal reports for management
Assists in developing policies, procedures and practices relating to FAR and CAS compliance
Interact with DCAA and DCMA for audits
Interact with sales for government contract proposal preparation and presentation
Perform audits to ensure compliance with Cost Accounting Standards
Skills Required:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance or related discipline
• Must have at least 5 years of related experience required.
• Experience in the area of program finance, accounting or financial planning.
• Prior experience working with DCAA (Defense Contract Audit Agency).
• Experience with FAR (Federal Acquisition Regulations) and CAS (Cost Accounting Standards).
• Public accounting background preferred
• Experience working in a government contracting environment along with a general understanding of general and cost accounting principles and practices is preferred
• Must possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills to be able to interact with all levels at the Divisions.
This position requires use of information which is subject to compliance with the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). To conform to U.S. Government export regulations/ITAR, applicant must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
