Help Wanted: Adult Day Program Director, Full-time, 40 Hours / Week
The Director of the Adult Day Program promotes an environment that encourages independence, dignity and quality of life through innovative programming in the Adult Day Program by providing the highest quality of service at all times; and provides leadership and direction to the staff and participants in the Adult Day Program.
Skills Required:
Duties
•Responsible for planning, organizing, developing, implementing, promoting, and monitoring of all the Adult Day Program according to the requirements of the regulating and funding agencies.
•Responsible for compliance with policies and procedures of all regulating agencies.
•Maintain statistical records according to the requirements of the regulating and funding agencies.
•Promote the Adult Day Program through multiple mediums, such as physicians, medical offices, hospitals, local newspaper, radio, and all aspects of social media.
•Maintain participant records: attendance, progress notes, social, and medical information.
•Provides orientation to new participants and their caregivers as well as ongoing caregiver training
•Liaison between the Center and client’s personal care physician to coordinate treatment plan and provide notification to the physician and family care provider of any marked changes in the participant’s condition.
•Responsible for setting up procedures, standards, and goals for the Adult Day Program.
•Responsible for ensuring that all invoicing is completed correctly for afterhours services.
•Responsible for planning, implementation and management of annual budgets for the Adult Day Program.
•Facilitate of data collection from staff, maintain all data collection and compile data into a monthly report.
•Assist in writing grants for the Adult Day Program and complete required reporting for grants awarded.
•Serves as a leader by interfacing with other community services organizations.
•Perform other duties assigned.
Qualifications, Skills, and Experience Required:
•Bachelor’s level, Gerontology, Social Services, Psychology or health related degree, with a minimum of 5 years supervisory level in a community based or non-profit agency
•Two years experience in aging or health related field
•In-depth knowledge of human behavior and the aging process, especially conditions of frail memory, impaired adults, and their caregivers
•Excellent written and verbal communication skills
•Experience supervising multiple staff/volunteers
•Ability to work collaboratively with multiple departments
•Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Windows, and database applications
•California driver license, proof of auto insurance, reliable transportation
