Processes financial information and supports controller by completing all essential job functions in payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, deposits, cash receipts, journal entries, and other duties with attention to detail and accurate reporting.
Skills Required:
Payroll
•Enter and process payroll for submission
•Prepare payroll report for weekly payroll journal entry
•Process payroll check for deposit
•Enter payroll disbursement entry in accounting system
•ID and Enter/Update employee information in payroll program
•Update reports with current vacation/sick accruals
Accounts Payable
•Code and enter approved A/P invoices into accounting system
•Process A/P checks
Accounts Receivable
•Prepare monthly billings for transportation contracts, county and Handyworker Program and city Community Access Services and Handyworker Program
•Enter county Handyworker billing into county website
•Enter monthly billings into accounting system
•Enter payments received into accounting system
Bank Deposits
•Enter all checks and cash on daily deposit spreadsheet
•Prepare bank deposit/copy all checks
Cash Receipts
•Enter bank deposits into accounting system
Journal Entries
•Prepare monthly medical spreadsheet for allocation
•Prepare monthly payroll summary for allocation
•Prepare/enter monthly allocation into accounting system
•Prepare/enter month end journal entries
Other
•Prepare Annual Census Report for 401K Tax Form 5500 for 401K vendor
•Report and maintain 401K Employee deductions, loan payments and employee match to 401K vendor weekly, monthly and annually
•Maintain filing system for computer-generated and hard copy resources.
•Maintain database and accompanying records through data entry and database management
•Maintain timely reporting of statistics, database entry, billing and all aspects related to contracts
•Assist with special projects as needed
•Assist with review of records for contract compliance
•Other general duties as assigned
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
•High-school diploma; Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred
•Minimum 5 years of accounting experience
•Corporate accounting / general ledger experience
•Solid computer skills with attention to detail
•Knowledge of MS Office Suite programs, other Window applications, accounting software preferred, MAS 90, and internet use
•Requires a working knowledge of good body mechanic techniques which enables the ability to bend, twist, and stand without injury to perform normal job functions including:
oContinuous: upward and downward flexion of the neck.
-Frequent: sitting, repetitive use of hands to operate computers, printers and copiers.
-Occasional: walking, standing, bending and twisting of neck, bending and twisting waist, squatting, simple grasping, reaching above and below shoulder level, squatting, simple grasping, reaching above and below shoulder level and lifting and carrying files weighing up to 10 pounds. Ability to stretch, bend, stoop and lift up to 20 lbs. of office supplies
