Director, Student Development and Campus Activities
(Review Date: October 30, 2015)

Position Description:

Under the direction of the Dean, Student Services, the Director of Student Development and Campus Activities is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the Office of Student Development and supervision of all full and part-time staff responsible for student development programs and services, as well as campus activities. This position is responsible for planning, organizing and directing programs and services, as well as campus activities, related to the retention, persistence and success of students, including special district and community projects. Acts as the Lead Advisor to the Associated Student Government. This position serves as part of a team working to ensure opportunities for civic engagement. Maintains state-of-art practices keeping abreast of current trends and practices in the field. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:

Experience:

Four (4) years of experience in community colleges, high schools, universities, community agencies or similar work involving programs and activities to assist the public. Experience working with student or group activities, leadership training, community groups and organizations, as well as knowledge of event planning, coordination and facilitation, is highly desirable.

Education:

Bachelor’s degree or higher from any accredited college or university. Master’s degree desirable.
