Deputy Sector Navigator – Information and Communication Technologies/Digital Media
(Review Date: August 13, 2015)
Position Description:
Under the direction of the Dean, Economic Development, this position implements the District’s responsibilities under the terms of the Deputy Sector Navigator - Information and Communication Technologies/Digital Media Grant (DSN ICT/DM) as awarded to the college by the California Community College Chancellor’s Office, Economic and Workforce Development program (CCCCO EWD). Additionally, the position reports to the statewide Sector Navigator, Information and Communication Technologies/Digital Media Sector and serves the community colleges and businesses located throughout the South Central Coast Region.
The Deputy Sector Navigator - ICT/DM will develop, coordinate and monitor education and training programs, technical assistance and technology transfer services in the sector of both Information and Communication Technology / Digital Media to all colleges and employers in the South Central Coast Region (Northern Los Angeles County, Ventura County, Santa Barbara County, and San Luis Obispo County). Provide on-going research regarding potential opportunities in new technologies.
Minimum Requirements:
Experience:
Five (5) years of managerial experience in an information technology and/or digital media department within an organization. Such experience should include: experience in modern information technology and/or digital media techniques and practices, training program development, marketing and contract management for workplace training and education programs, or experience in developing, marketing and implementing training programs either internally or externally. Two or more years of experience managing projects.
Education:
Possession of a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university. Degree in business, education, information technology, media or a related field is required. Alternatively, the candidate should possess a Bachelor’s degree in any discipline (or 120 semester units) plus ten years applicable experience in an information communications technology or digital media department within an organization (as described above).
