Help Wanted: Director, Contracts, Procurement, And Risk Management Services
College of the Canyons, located 35 miles north of downtown Los Angeles in the beautiful Santa Clarita Valley, is seeking a Director, Contracts, Procurement, and Risk Management Services professional to join our team. This is a Classified Management Position.

Position Description: Under the direction of the Assistant Superintendent/Vice-President of Business Services, and with oversight/daily work management by the Controller, plans, organizes, controls and directs purchasing, contracts, and risk management functions. Coordinates nonpublic-works purchases including supplies, equipment, and services. Facilitates the development of contracts with third parties and coordinates with college departments on revisions that ensure compliance with laws, regulations, and district policy and procedure. Administers risk management services and coordinates with third party insurance administrator to ensure the successful resolution of claims and establish protocol to mitigate District liability. Provides support to grant function by coordinating grant related contracts, waivers, bids and purchases. Provides oversight to the bid process including the development of Request for Proposals (RFPs) and related contracts that are compliant with regulations and District policy and procedure, based on input from the department and/or subject matter experts. Provides short-term and long-term planning through program review in conjunction with District Strategic Goals. Supervises and evaluates the performance of assigned personnel.

Minimum Qualifications:

Experience:
Three (3) years of full-time experience in areas related to contracts, procurement, and/or risk management.
Education:
Possession of a Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited college or university in Business or a related field is required. Two years direct experience in addition to that identified above may be substituted for each year (30 semester units) of college coursework for a maximum substitution of four additional years of experience for two years (60 semester units) of college.
