Cashier / Salesperson - Santa Clarita Job

Under direct supervision of the Store Manager, accurately handle cash transactions while providing quality customer service.
Provide support to staff and store functions.
Greet customers courteously and professionally.
Respond to customers’ questions, requests and concerns.
Measure and cut fabrics accurately.
Promote Beverly Fabrics products and services and participate in keeping the store safe, clean, well-stocked and attractive.
Process the sales transaction in an efficient, friendly and timely manner
Accurately count out drawer and balance register.
Stay current with advertising, sales and pricing.
Answer phones
Participate in company’s Loss Prevention and Illness and Injury prevention program
Assist in keeping store neat, clean and presentable.
Assist in setting up sale displays, shelves and signs or stocking shelves.
May assist in unpacking, scanning and pricing merchandise.
Demonstrate products and craft projects and/or teach classes.

Skills Required:

Ability to work well under pressure.
Ability to handle cash transactions with a high degree of accuracy.
Willingness to learn, support and adhere to company and department policies and
procedures.
Ability to listen, take directions and follow through on instructions.
Must be able to speak, understand and read English sufficient for professional
communication.
Knowledge of basic math skills including understanding of percentages, fractions,
multiplication and division.
Possess touch typing skills and basic knowledge of PC skills.
Seeing: Must see well enough to
distinguish colors and read small font
on price tags and computer screens.
Hearing: Must hear well enough to
communicate effectively by phone and
in person.
Physical Requirements:
Standing/Walking: Must be able to
stand continuously for 2 hours.Climbing/Stooping/Kneeling
Lifting/Pulling/Pushing: Must be able to
extend arms to handle merchandise,
reach under shelves and reach
keyboard.
Fingering/Grasping/Feeling: Must be
able to manipulate keyboard and touch
pad, handle cash and merchandise and
package purchases.
