Help Wanted: Maintenance Technician
KBI is a privately held leading manufacturer of plastic valves and plumbing fittings. Headquarter in Valencia, CA, KBI has strong relationship with its customers throughout the world.

We currently have an opening for a Maintenance Technician position at our facility in Valencia, CA. This position will work 6am to 2:30 pm, Mon-Fri.

In this position the Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain production and facility equipment according to safety, predictive and productive maintenance systems and processes to support the achievement of the site's business and objectives. Position is located in Valencia, CA. Experience with maintaining injection molding machines is a must.

JOB DESCRIPTION:
• Performs highly diversified duties to install and maintain production machines and the plant facility's equipment.
• Ensures that his/her work habits adhere to the Health, Safety and Environmental policies and practices of the department and the facility.
• Ensures that all Health, Safety and Environmental features and/or functions of the machinery are operational and within specification, before machinery is turned over to an operator for production.
• Provides emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and performs scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service.
• The work revolves around injection molding machines, robots, conveyors, automation of various types.
• Performs simple machinist duties and responsibilities.
• Performs mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting and repair of production machines.
• Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
• Work on a number of automated devices using high levels of pneumatic and electrical circuit logic and also to work on robotic equipment.
• Maintain several packaging equipment (baggers, conveyors, tapers,) etc.
Carry out mold changes, color changes, etc on production equipment and get equipment production ready.
• Troubleshoot molding processes, including repairing molds.
• Troubleshoot and repair of all production equipment.
• Read and follow schematics.
• Work independently.
• Adhere to maintenance schedules.
• Perform routine maintenance.
• Flexible work hours and days.
• Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments.
• Perform regular preventative maintenance on machines, equipment and plant facilities.
• Perform a variety of plumbing maintenance and carpentry functions.
• Use a variety of hand held tools, electric meters and material handling equipment in performing duties.
• Generates, completes work orders as assigned and ensures that the maintenance log on individual equipment is kept up to date and accurate.
• Submits supplies requisitions and maintains proper spare parts inventory levels as assigned by supervisor.
• Conduct several PMs (Preventive Maintenance) on a routine basis per schedule.
• Detect faulty operations, defective material and report those and any unusual situations to proper supervision.
• Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.
• Perform all other duties as assigned or needed.
• Ability to work overtime if needed.
• Other jobs as defined by supervisors.

NOTE: Incumbent will be trained to applicable Health, Safety and Environmental Standards (HSE) and local Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).


Basic Qualifications:
• High School Diploma or GED Required.

• 3 years with the maintenance of industrial or manufacturing equipment.

Additional Qualifications:
• 3 years experience in electrical or mechanical positions such as a machinist, assembler or technician preferred.
• 3 years experience at reading wiring diagrams and troubleshooting mechanical and electrical systems or 3 years experience at reading hydraulic and pneumatic circuits and analyzing and trouble shooting automated equipment preferred.
• Ability to use a fork truck (will be recertified at HSP).
• Experience with hydraulics and pneumatics.
• Experience in the assembly and dismantling of Production/Prototype machinery Experience working in an environment where spare parts inventory is controlled.
• This position requires good people skills when dealing with machine operators of all levels of experience to determine the running status of the equipment or maintenance requirements.
• This position also requires good diagnostic skills relative to quality issues along with the ability to work as a team to resolve any concerns.
• Be able to successfully complete Technician evaluations during training period.
• Experience working with Cincinnati Milacron injection molding machines is highly desirable.
