Help Wanted: NDT Level II Inspector
We are looking for an NDT Level II to assist with Non-Destructive Testing. The NDT Level II will work directly with the Production Leads and the General Manager to ensure customer demands are met. The inspector takes a leadership role in the inspection, testing, calibration, and maintenance of the NDT Department.
Responsibilities:
• Performs non-destructive testing on aircraft components to meet customer and internal processing requirements.
• Performs daily tests, interprets non-destructive test results, and maintains product quality documentation by keeping accurate records and files.
• Assures product quality by utilizing a combination of skill, knowledge, interpretation, attention to detail, and technical/mathematical ability.
• This individual has the responsibility and authority to carry out the assigned task.
• May be assigned some or all duties indicated below depending on job progression level.
• Perform all phases of liquid penetrant inspections (non- destructive testing) of aircraft components in accordance with ASTM E1417 requirements and/or customer specifications.
• Assure product quality and manufacturing accuracy by properly interpreting inspection results.
• Develop and/or write technique sheets.
• Maintain process control and equipment specifications.
• Ensure that inspections and equipment conform to standards by correctly reading blueprints and applicable specifications.
• Update procedures, tests, and specifications to stay in accordance with ASTM/NADCAP requirements and/or customer specifications, as applicable ·
• Continue training to ensure compliance with AERO TMF requirements and/or customer specifications, as applicable.
• Maintain compliance through testing for level II certification.
• Solve problems by working closely with other departments (Customer Support, Engineering, and other Repair and Overhaul Departments)
• Help promote a company culture that encourages top performance and high morale.
• Adhere to all the rules, regulations, and safety guidelines.
• Practice, participate, and support continuous improvement programs Performance of any other assigned duties as per departmental and business needs.
Qualifications:
• Technical background in NDT methods and procedures
• Demonstrated ability to effectively perform assigned NDT tasks and interpret results of inspections.
• Knowledge of NDT equipment
• Experience in report writing.
• Proficiency in blueprint reading/interpretation and shop mathematics required.
• Requires documentation demonstrating completion of at least the minimum hours of formal training and experience for each NDT method requiring certification. These hours are required to meet the minimum requirements of NAS 410 rev. 5
Salary Range: $35-40/hr. (DOE)
